Lead Acid (SLA) Batteries
Cylindrical Lead Acid

Enersys Cyclon cylindrical lead acid technology is a unique spirally wound variation of Absorbant Glass Mat technology, offering the advantages of lead acid in cell-type form factors suitable for custom pack construction. The spiral construction means that Cyclon cells have a very high plate surface-area, leading to excellent high charge and discharge current performance, as well as superior low temperature performance compared to standard sealed lead acid batteries. The high purity of the lead-tin grid used in Cyclon cells results in a long life on float charge. Depending on ambient temperatures and specific cells used, up to 10 year float life is achieveable. Cyclon cells are safe for transport and approved for shipping as non-hazardous, non-spillable.

Sealed/Valve-Regulated Lead Acid

One of the most popular chemistries for industrial batteries, lead acid is cheap, robust and versatile. They are also in widespead use in the automotive and plant industries for vehicle starting, lighting and ignition. They are also widely used as a backup power source for generator starting or emergency lighting. Different variants are available depending on the required trickle design life or for cyclic applications. As one of the oldest battery technologies, there are a variety of manufacturers with a huge range of cell types and sizes available.
