Nickel Rechargeable
Nickel Metal Hydride

A mainstay of industrial and consumer devices for the past two decades, nickel metal hydride is a safe and well-established battery chemistry which offers a well developed and diverse range of cells in many different sizes and specialities. Standard NiMH technology allows a high capacity and quick charging, but other formulations such as low self-discharge, high temperature and high discharge rate allow NiMH to power a huge and varied range of consumer and industrial devices.

Nickel Cadmium
One of the oldest rechargeable chemistries, Nickel Cadmium is now strictly controlled and can only be used in specific applications due to EU battery legislation. Suitable for products requiring robust and abuse-tolerant batteries, NiCd cells are capable of surviving high currents, high temperatures and extended deep discharge cycles. They have a lower rate of self-discharge compared to NiMH and are lighter and offer greater energy density compared to lead acid.
