Lithium Manganese-Dioxide (Li-MnO2)

Lithium manganese-dioxide cells are a light weight and high energy density primary battery with a wide range of uses. Developed for digital cameras and widely used in consumer electronics, they have a long shelf life and good energy density. This makes them invaluable in applications combining requirements for a long service life and availablity direct to consumers. Although initially designed as a range of cells suitable for direct sale to consumers, a series of products have built up in medical and industrial fields that use lithium manganese-dioxide cells in larger, custom-built packs.

These batteries differ from alkaline equivalents both chemically and in their internal construction, however they are manufactured as drop in replacements for standard AA, AAA size batteries.
